Welder recruitment for industry and shipyards
Certified welders sourced against the process, the material and the certification the work actually requires — not against a job title.
Screening that means something
A welder is not a generic profile
A company that asks for "ten welders" and receives ten welders will often still have a problem: the certifications do not match the process, the positions are wrong for the joint, or the qualification has lapsed.
We screen on the terms the work is done in — the welding process, the material and thickness, the welding positions, the applicable standard and the validity of the certification.
Where a role justifies it, the verification includes a practical test coordinated with the employer or with a partner workshop before the candidate is presented.
What we verify
Verification points for a welding profile
The employer tells us which of these matter for the role; we do not assume that a certificate covers work it was never issued for.
- Welding processes: MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA, submerged arc
- Materials: carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, duplex
- Welding positions and joint types
- Applicable standard and the scope of the qualification
- Validity and renewal date of each certificate
- Blueprint and weld symbol reading
- Sector experience: shipbuilding, pressure equipment, structures, piping
- Site safety training and personal protective equipment habits
- Language level needed for the shift and the safety briefing
- Documentation status for the immigration route in question
Where these profiles work
Demand is concentrated and specific
Welding shortages cluster around shipbuilding and ship repair, metal structures, pressure equipment, industrial piping, energy infrastructure and heavy manufacturing. Each of those has its own certification expectations, and a welder qualified for one is not automatically suitable for another.
The countries where we can currently analyse welding profiles appear on our destinations page with their status. A country listed there is not an open intake.
Arlen Global Mobility coordinates the preparation and follow-up of these processes. Legal services and other regulated activities are provided by duly authorised independent professionals or providers. The granting of visas, permits and authorisations depends exclusively on the competent authorities.
Immigration approvals and work authorizations are determined by the competent authorities. Requirements vary according to the destination, nationality, profession and individual circumstances.
Questions
Welder recruitment — questions
Can you arrange a practical test before we hire?
Yes, where the destination and the profile allow it. A test is coordinated with the employer or a partner workshop, and its results are shared with the employer as part of the written assessment of the profile.
Do foreign welding certificates need to be recognised?
It depends on the destination country, the standard the certificate was issued under and the requirements of the contracting company or its client. We identify what has to be recognised or re-certified before the candidate travels, so it does not surface on the first day on site.
I am a welder. How do I register?
Send your profile with your certificates, the processes and positions you are qualified in, your sector experience and your documentation situation. Registering is not an application to a specific vacancy: we contact candidates when a confirmed process matches their profile.
Next step
Need certified welders?
Send the process, the material, the positions and the standard. We will tell you which markets can supply that certification and what the route involves.
